Factory landing gear bushings tend to be soft for comfort and provide a degree of play at the linkage. However, the forces occurring at the wheel are then transmitted to the chassis in a distorted manner and vice versa. With harder bushings, this play can be reduced to a minimum and the chassis can be fully exploited.
