PROVEN WITH THE PROFESSIONALS
WISEFAB steering angle kits can be found on almost every Formula Drift team. The best proof of the superior benefits and performance these kits bring.
MORE OF EVERYTHING
The specially designed wishbones give the bike significantly more room to turn. Together with the optimized tie rods, this results in a steering angle of up to 62°. If that's too much for you, you can set it smaller. With the included Ackermann adjustment kit, you can adjust the Ackermann angle to your needs in just a few simple steps, without affecting other settings.
Due to the boxer engine, the position of the original steering gear is very impractical for drifting. The steering gear is positioned under the front axle support using the bracket included in the kit. In this way, the steering gear no longer stands in the way of a swap to R6 or V8 engines. A hydraulic steering gear from a Nissan S chassis is also required to use the kit. All parts and adapters needed to use this steering gear are included in the kit.
IMPROVED KINEMATICS AND GEOMETRY
Due to the optimized chassis geometry, the camber of the front wheels remains stable over the entire steering range and thus always offers you perfect grip on the front wheels. With the adjustable dome plates you can also adjust the camber of the front wheels according to your requirements.
An increased roll center improves the feedback you get from your steering and reduces body roll in corners and during rapid changes of direction. This optimization of the roll center even allows the front anti-roll bar to be removed.
Since the spread can become a problem with such large steering angles, this point was also optimized without minimizing the restoring forces. Instead, the restoring forces are almost constant and easy to control over the entire steering range thanks to sophisticated kinematics.
Furthermore, the geometry was designed in such a way that, despite the high steering angle, the steering cannot jam when the steering is fully turned.
DETAILS
The original wheel speed sensors can still be used.
Minor cutting and welding work is required to modify the front axle support. Furthermore, a Nissan S-Chassis steering gear is required.
A maximum wheel circumference of 605 mm is recommended ((215/40R17, 225/40R17, 215/35R18, 225/35R18 etc ). With a circumference greater than 605 mm up to 635 mm (215/45R17, 225/45R17, 235 /40R17, 225/40R18 etc.) the wheelhouse liners have to be adjusted slightly.
Minimum wheel size is 17", 18" is recommended.
Recommended backspace is 135-140 mm (7" ET45; 8" ET35; 9" ET25). If the ET is larger, track plates must be used.
This kit requires the use of a coilover kit and is a motorsport product and not approved for public road traffic.
