EVEN PERFORMANCE & PEDAL FEEL
The easiest way to describe the Brake Boost Eliminator is as follows: with a 10%-80% pedal position, there are no major differences to good brakes with a brake booster. Heavy braking from 81-100% requires a bit more leg power, but this is where the product really thrives.
It allows for better balancing of lockout and maximum braking bump. You get exactly the same brake feel every time with the kit, while the power brake setups are inconsistent. The desired braking levels can be easily regulated and your car will still stop just as quickly as with a brake booster.
A common rumor about the elimination of the booster is that the pedal is too hard for comfortable riding on and off the track, but this is often due to improper design and configuration. The key to great pedal feel and more controlled braking is a properly sized master cylinder for your brake pedal ratio, an adjustable preload valve to adjust rear brake preload, and high-performing brake pads for the quick clamping force this setup produces. Don't worry, Chase Bays has you covered. You get everything you need to properly set up your vehicle in one place.
BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER
If the bore of the master cylinder is increased, the harder it is to depress the pedal. If you were to use a 1" bore master cylinder with the stock pedal and no brake booster, depressing the pedal would be too hard to properly brake the car. Without a brake booster, braking will be harsher. This means there is less room for error in a poorly designed setup.
The pedal ratio must be matched to the output volume of the master brake cylinder. It directly affects how your pedal feels and how your braking function works. We recommend creating a perfect master cylinder size match for the stock pedal ratio in the chassis into which it is fitted.
Larger master cylinder = harder pedal feel. Harder to press and shorter travel. Smaller master cylinder = softer pedal feel. Easier to push and longer travel. Perfect brake master cylinder = which we make available to you. Maximum braking requires a little more leg power, but creates more control without locking up the brakes easily.
MEASUREMENTS
The kit will not work with factory brake lines. This is because the master cylinder has only one outlet, unlike most stock master cylinders. A common misconception is that should one fail, this creates a higher risk of failure due to the lack of a backup line.
Most OEM master cylinders are still single side fed internally and have the same assumed "risk" to our master cylinder. Always use high-quality brake lines that are free of moving parts.
The brake pressure output is determined by the size of the master cylinder bore. Vehicles with up to 4 outlets on the master brake cylinder have an internal pressure outlet controlled by the bore size. The increased number of outputs does not result in more braking power. While our kit only has one output, it doesn't result in less brake pressure or less power.
This product weighs only 625g. Master brake cylinders and brake boosters weigh between 5 and 10 kg. If the ABS is removed, an additional 10kg can be saved. Our kit is often used in conjunction with larger engines or add-on parts (turbo, downpipe, intake) to free up space.
The space saving can be up to 7,6 inches in all directions.
