✅ better performance
✅ tested in racing
✅ Driving feeling much more controllable
WHY YOU NEED THIS
This kit allows the pedal ratio to be changed from 4:1 to 6:1 via the included bolt-on bracket for greater leverage on the master cylinder. This allows you to unlock the amazingly powerful braking performance of a manual setup.
There is also a true dual-piston master cylinder with isolated front and rear circuits in the reservoir. So if the front brakes fail, you still have the rear brakes to get you to safety, and vice versa.
This makes it suitable and approved by the FIA, FD, SCCA, WRC and dozens of other sanctioning bodies.
The fact is that the fastest road racing cars in the world have manual brakes. From F1 to GT4. With this you can unlock the same potential.
Properly adjusted manual brakes improve lap times and make for a more controllable drift/rally car. There is a lot of misinformation out there about manual brakes, from forums to other videos. Chase Bays has sold over 10 manual brake setups in the last 15.000 years - from the winning road race chassis to the drift chassis.
So forget everything you've heard about manual brakes and what you know about master cylinders and brake boosters. Chase Bays promises you uniquely controllable brakes.
VOTING IS EVERYTHING
As with all other motorsport chassis, manual brakes also depend on the set-up. There is a single-piston and a double-piston brake booster. The single booster delete is different. It is a single-piston design and works with the standard pedal ratio of 3,5:1 to 4,5:1 (depending on chassis). Pedal ratio is basically just a way to measure the leverage applied to the master cylinder. It is the distance from the upper swing axis to the brake foot pad divided by the distance from the upper swing axis to the master cylinder clevis attachment point. The dual piston has a 6:1 pedal ratio as seen on high-end motorsport pedal boxes.
Changing the pedal ratio to 6:1 is a significant improvement in function and feel to allow the use of a larger master cylinder. The OE pedal ratio can only provide so much leverage, so we are limited to a 3/4 or smaller master cylinder. The improved motorsport pedal ratio gives you a better mechanical advantage with additional leverage. This means we can use a larger 1-inch master cylinder with more fluid pushed in per mm of piston travel. This gives you a better braking feel and more force on the brake calipers with the same or less force on the pedal. This means less effort on the legs and more braking power with the same throwing distance.
Manual brakes are also great in drift and rally environments where almost every corner has a different entry angle and speed. It is also more common to brake with your left foot. Your left foot is not used to braking and often does so spontaneously as a correction. With the stiffer, slightly more leg pressure when braking at 90-99% this allows us some forgiveness when the front brakes are not locking and easier modulation with the other foot being used
