A very common problem with water coolers is inadequate fan wiring. Powerful electric fans are often installed on chassis that were originally delivered with mechanical fans. The factory A/C relays, which use smaller wires, are tapped and wires that cannot handle the high amperage are routed to the fans themselves. Or this one relay is used to supply two fans. In both cases, half-powered fans are the problem, along with a temperature reading that keeps rising.
VERY EASY TO INSTALL
There are dozens of other solutions for fan relay wiring kits, but these don't always make sense. Other kits mostly consist of two pre-crimped relays, some butt connectors and a handful of cables with zip ties - nothing to be happy with for very long.
The Chase Bays Fan Wiring Harness consists of a small weatherproof relay/fuse box with an easy to adjust mounting bracket, a fireproof sleeve, yellow labels on each wire for easy installation, and thin gauge TXL jacketed wire.
Assembly couldn't be easier. The wires marked "thermosw" go to the included 1/8 NPT thermal switch, which you attach to the bottom of your water cooler after the thermostat. The wires marked "Fans" go to the fan. Then you simply ground the "GND" wire to a clean surface with an unpainted steel or stainless steel stud.
The wire marked "Battery" is the main power wire. It can be connected in two different ways. It is already fused in the fuse box, so it can be connected directly to the battery, alternator or starter. If you do this, the fans will stay on until the coolant temperature is below 82°C. Even after the car is turned off. If you don't want this, then simply connect the battery cable to a switched 12V source.
The fan and fan relay power wires are all crimped with a certified mil-spec pneumatic crimping tool, all terminals are 110% nickel plated, and the fans use Deutsch connectors.
FOR EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE
The wiring harness can be used for any water cooler. The only missing piece you may need is a 1/8 NPT aluminum weld bung screw.
Always use liquid teflon sealing materialto prevent leaks and thread seizure. Pipe tape can keep the thermal switch from producing a correct reading, and it can break off and get into your cooling system.
