ALL BENEFITS AT A GLANCE
The caster of the front wheels can be adjusted with eccentric bushings. Eccentric control arm bushings are installed as standard in the M3 models and can also be installed in the non-M models.
Factory landing gear bushings tend to be soft for comfort and provide a degree of play at the linkage. However, the forces occurring at the wheel are then transmitted to the chassis in a distorted manner and vice versa. As a result, the chassis is sluggish and cannot react to these forces to the full extent of its capabilities. This also applies to the driver. With harder bushings, this play can be reduced to a minimum and the chassis can be fully exploited.
If values such as camber, track, caster, etc. are set, the vehicle is at a standstill. If it is now set in motion, there will be slight deviations from these values due to the intended play in the factory rubber bushings. While these deviations are negligible in road traffic, they can make the difference between victory and defeat at the limit. Hard bushings reduce this play to a minimum and ensure that you always ride at the exact values you set.
