DEVELOPED FROM THE SCRATCH
The new WISEFAB steering angle kit, also called "Odi-Edition" V3, was developed from scratch with the support of James Deane and Aurimas "Odi" Bakchis. It offers all the advantages of the two previous kits, coupled with numerous innovations During development, care was taken to ensure that the kit conforms to the regulations of all major drift series, which stipulate an OEM front axle and allow modifications to the steering gear position.
THE INNOVATIONS AT A GLANCE
The Wisefab "Odi Edition" V3 Nissan S-Chassis Lock Kit moves the steering linkage forward towards the subframe, improving vehicle control at medium to full steering locks. It also prevents the handlebars from locking when the steering wheel is fully turned.
The steering feel is consistently more constant, which allows for a larger usable steering angle overall. The Ackerman and bump steer systems have also been redesigned for a more refined ride. The addition of a quick adjuster for camber on the lower steering makes adjusting camber easy and quick. The "Odi Edition" kit is really the ultimate solution for the S chassis in terms of steering angle!
YOUR ADVANTAGE TO CONVENTIONAL STEERING ANGLE KITS
The wishbones and steering knuckles have been completely redesigned. The wishbones are curved much further to give the wheels enough space even at full steering lock. The linkage points of the tie rod end on the steering knuckles have been moved back to give the tie rod enough clearance to the wishbone and a steering angle of 65°+.
In order to prevent the handlebars from blocking when the steering is fully turned, the new kit no longer uses offset rack spacers, which also results in a more direct steering feel. Instead, a welding kit for the front axle support is included, which moves the steering gear significantly forward. The templates and welding gauges included in the scope of delivery guarantee you a simple and unproblematic conversion of the OEM front axle carrier. The new bracket for the steering gear is also rigid and makes the steering feel even more precise.
With two-part top mounts, the values for camber and caster can now be adjusted much faster and easier. By increasing the steering ratio, the steering responds to commands much more evenly and sensitively. The steering angle can also be adjusted in six stages directly on the tie rod ends to perfectly meet your requirements. The Ackermann angle can be adjusted to your needs in several stages.
The completely new geometry now creates a roll center correction and allows the use of long-stroke coilovers thanks to greater mobility of the axle parts and the resulting longer spring deflection. With quick adjusters, you can adjust from parallel to positive Ackermann in minutes, even at the edge of the racetrack, without messing up the track or other adjustments. All components are even lighter in weight thanks to optimized design and increased strength, thus reducing the unsprung mass.
DON'T FORGET OLD VIRTUES
As with previous WISEFAB kits, the camber of the front wheels remains consistently stable over the entire steering range and thus always offers you perfect grip on the front wheels. The independent steering of the wheels during compression (bump steer) is almost completely eliminated. An optimized geometry enables constant, easily assessable rear steering forces and prevents blocking at the maximum angle.
MEASUREMENTS
This kit requires a swamp conversion! At least one rear sump or dry sump conversion is required to make room for the steering and cross member. However, depending on the engine setup, further adjustments may be required to make the kit a perfect fit.
With a total wheel diameter of 635 mm or more (215/45R17, 225/45R17, 235/40R17, 225/40R18 etc.) the wheel arch liners have to be slightly modified.
Recommended backspace is 135-140 mm (7" ET45; 8" ET35; 9" ET25). If the ET is larger, track plates must be used.
Installation of the Steering Rack Relocation Kit requires cutting and welding of the front axle support.
This kit requires the use of a coilover kit and is a motorsport product and not approved for public road traffic.
