IMPROVED KINEMATICS AND GEOMETRY
The basic concept of the Wisefab axle is to allow better kinematics for a long stroke combined with a softer suspension and thus more grip on the rear axle, especially more side grip in corners when accelerating.
This anti-squat reduces rear wheel deflection when accelerating. As a result, more load and therefore more grip is transferred to the tires. How strong the anti-squat should be can of course be adjusted in a wide range with this kit.
The increased roll center reduces body roll in corners and during rapid changes of direction.
Better ground clearance. Arms and handlebars are placed higher for less risk of damaging suspension components in rally use.
An entry-level rear suspension upgrade. This kit can be installed with the OEM TYPE 188 final drive.
This kit offers space for larger drive shafts. With the help of the BMW E36 Strut Riser Kit it would also be possible to mount a 125mm longer coilover kit on the rear axle.
Upgradable for a larger axle drive such as TYPE 210 or E60M. All that is required for this is a new mounting adapter, which can be purchased separately from the kit.
For the BMW TYPE 210 differential, which is structurally part of the rear subframe: The screw for the Wisefab axle comes from the E60 M5 differential, which has a flange for a larger inner CV joint. Compatible with E36 TYPE 210 LSD differentials or E32/E34 TYPE 210 LSD with the correct brackets.
The differential cover is CNC machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum. Subframe, handlebars and arms are made of high-strength steel to achieve the required strength. In addition, they are designed in such a way that in the event of damage, the wishbones break first, as these are the easiest to replace.
The motion ratio (shock stroke / wheel stroke) is 0,935, which was originally 1,1. As a result, 17% more cycle paths are possible. For example, with a 200mm shock absorber stroke, the wheel travel of the Wisefab axle is 216mm, with the original 184mm with the same shock absorber stroke. On the spring stiffness side, this means that to get the same rate, about 35% stiffer springs should be used compared to the stock axle.
The half-shafts are the same length for easy replacement. The steering knuckles and subframe are designed to fit much heavier 120mm diameter CV joints found on the E60M and E90M. (CV-s and shafts are not included in the kit). The kit was tested with 260mm stroke shocks, allowing for 280mm of wheel travel.
If wheel speed reading is important, E90 rear wheel bearings should be used in place of E36 M3 bearings and E90 wheel speed sensors. All components are galvanized.
